VHF is the range of radio frequency (RF) signals from 30 to 300 MHz. Commonly used in digital audio broadcasting, FM radio, TV broadcasting, two-way land mobile radio system and marine communication.

 

UHF is the range between 300 MHz and 3 GHz. Commonly used in TV broadcasting, cell phones, satellite communication including GPS, personal radio services including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, walkie-talkies, cordless phones, and numerous other applications.
